When Is Qualifying?

Qualifying will be held at Canton City Hall at 151 Elizabeth Street in the office of the City Clerk from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily beginning on Monday, August 26 at 8:30 and ending on Friday, August 30 at 4:30 p.m.

Qualifying Fees

Qualifying fees for the November 05, 2013 election are $ 63.00. All elected offices of the Council are for four year terms. For further information regarding qualification for office contact Susan C. Stanton, Canton City Clerk, at 770.704.1507 or email at


  • 1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • 2. Must be a registered City voter.
  • 3. Shall be a resident of the ward they wish to represent for at least six months prior to the election and shall continue to reside therein during the member’s period of service.
  • 4. Shall be a resident of the City of Canton for at least one year prior to the election.
