When Is Qualifying?

Qualifying will be held at Canton City Hall at 151 Elizabeth Street in the office of the City Clerk from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily beginning on Monday, August 26 at 8:30 and ending on Friday, August 30 at 4:30 p.m.

Qualifying Fees

Qualifying fees for the November 05, 2013 election are $ 63.00. All elected offices of the Council are for four year terms. For further information regarding qualification for office contact Susan C. Stanton, Canton City Clerk, at 770.704.1507 or email at susans@canton-georgia.com.

Qualifications

  • 1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • 2. Must be a registered City voter.
  • 3. Shall be a resident of the ward they wish to represent for at least six months prior to the election and shall continue to reside therein during the member’s period of service.
  • 4. Shall be a resident of the City of Canton for at least one year prior to the election.
