Canton Police Department
The Canton Police Department seeks career oriented, highly motivated, competent men and women with high moral and ethical standards to provide the entire range of law enforcement services to the community.
To be considered for employment, an applicant must meet our minimum qualifications:
- At least 21 years of age for sworn positions or 18 years of age for civilian positions.
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid drivers license (Georgia)
- Honorable discharge (if prior military)
- No adverse driving record
Selection Process
Our selection process is thorough to ensure only the highest caliber persons are selected. This process includes but is not limited to:
- Intensive background investigation
- Oral interview (conditional offer)
- Polygraph examination
- Medical examination and drug screen (sworn personnel only)
- Passing a physical agility test (sworn personnel only)
- Psychological evaluation (sworn personnel only)
